Bella Box: March 2015

And here's the Bella Box March 2015 issue that was received yesterday 2 Apr 2015.

This month's box came a little late so one of the discount vouchers in there has expired (valid only until 31 Mar 2015).  Nonetheless, I'd probably get it from online sale if I really wanted the mascara.

Farewell to Father Singapore Mr Lee Kuan Yew

The hype should have stopped now.  When I first heard of the news, I wasn't in Singapore to feel the impact.  It only hit me when I touch Singapore land. I may not be a PAP supporter and I may not agree with a lot of policies they introduced but I cannot deny the fact that it was Mr Lee Kuan Yew who brought us to where we are today.  Without him, we would probably still be a small unknown 3rd world country that many had mistaken to be part of China. 

The late Mr Lee who passed away on 23 March 2015 at the age of 91 was someone who breathed and lived Singapore.  He was one who believed that this tiny island can survive big storms.  He strengthened ties with foreign countries because he knew we cannot survive on our own...we have nothing. 

His wise leadership of this nation is acknowledged by leaders from all over and can be proven by the many who came to bid him farewell.  I am glad to have grown up in his era...Yes, the LKY era and get to experienced his leadership personally.  There are those in the cyber-community who have wished him dead and had cursed him.  Well, I look down on all these keyboard warriors.  It is with much comfort that Mr Chiam See Tong, a long time opposition of PAP has turned up to pay his respect to this old friend even though he is frail.  Frankly speaking, I feared the post-LKY era because I am not sure if his legacy will be carried on by our new leaders.  Only time will tell. 

The late Mr Lee's body was moved from a private funeral at Sri Temasek to the Parliament House for the public to pay their respects.  Almost 500,000 queued for up to 10 hours over the past 4 days in the hot sun to bid farewell to the great man to which we owe a lifetime of gratitude to.

To ease the crowd, 18 tributes centres were set up for all to write their tributes.  I went to the one at Marina Barrage.

The day came when the cortege leaves Parliament House for the funeral service at National University cultural centre saw many Singaporean's and friends queuing.  The heavens could not hold back it's tears.  Or should I say, the heavenlies washed the roads so our legend can have a good journey.  The heavy downpour did not stop the people from sending Mr Lee for the last time.

It is also during this time where the whole nation unite.  Sweet gestures were seen by corporations and random strangers.  Small actions like providing water and shade and chairs for those queuing in Padang.  Free car decals.  And even random strangers who offered a shade from the heavy downpour to a civil servant on duty. This is perhaps what the late Mr Lee would have wanted.

This could be my longest post ever...and trust me, I have already summarized a lot of what I wanted to say.  It could get a lot longer if I didn't  :)

Farewell Father Singapore.  I'm sure you are reunited with the late Mrs Lee already.

Gadgets: Magic Stapler

This stapler is a little bulky but I quite like it.  You don't need to buy staples (some call them stapler bullets) coz it uses the perforator (some call it hold puncher) technique.

 Start by inserting your papers under the clear plastic thingie.  This baby can take up to 6 pages.  After you are done inserting press the pink lever down.

 Tadah! Your papers are now stapled together effortlessly. 

 Close up look.  The papers were punch and little punched out pieces were slot into a slit also done by the stapler when you press the lever down.  Isn't that the most interesting stuff! I thought this is one of the most interesting invention I've seen :D

Bella Box: September 2014

And here goes the September Bella.  Have been so busy with everything that I have no time to clear the boxes.  My stock is barely sold (yes, I didn't have time to upload) and I'm shopping around for new stocks.  Should I bring in RC Helicopter with video recording capabilities?  Nonetheless, here's what September surprises gives me :)

Bella Box: July 2014

Just sharing about the Bella Box program that I join where you get sent samples every month.  Nope, it's not free...you gotta subscribe but some of the samples are really good.

Here's some items in my July box.

Frankly, I haven't really started using any of them.  Coz whenever Ta-Q-bin delivers the box, I'll just put it aside telling myself to open it tomorrow.  As you would have noticed, my 'tomorrow' has finally arrived!

Reiki Certified

Congratulations to me!  I have completed my Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 courses :)  And yes, I have been initiated by the Grand Master.  I'm now a Reiki healer and I can balance your chakras hehehehe.  Nope, I am still unable to manipulate chakras and I can't do astral projections yet (I hope I don't have to...I'll freak out looking at myself).  Wanted to proceed to Master class but my master said that I'm not ready...need to practice first.  Guess I'm just too excited.   My calling came only after my crystal healing course.  Frankly, I always have the thought of going to a master to learn Reiki but never really put that thought into action until recently while at the holistic fair.  This is my second year visiting the holistic fair but the calling was strong this time.

So what exactly is Reiki?  Reiki is founded by Dr Mikao Usui (read history here).  Reiki is not a religion.  The word basically means universal life energy. It is the power which acts and lives in all created matter.  The word Reiki consists of 2 parts. Rei - the universe, boundless aspect of the energy.  Ki - vital life force energy which flows through all living beings.  A Reiki practitioner taps the pure energy from the universe, channels it through his body and sends it out through his hands as healing energy.  This energy is applied to the Chakras and organs surrounding them to restore the harmony of  the chakras.  There are altogether 772,000 meridians in the body but 7 major ones (which we know as Chakras).  Others are known as acupuncture points.

If you are interested to know more about Reiki, you can do a search on the internet and many information will surface.  The most important thing is to get your attunement from a qualified master.  Attunement makes you an instrument for the energy to pass through you to the person you are trying to heal.
