没那么简单

Nice song with great wordings...

Singaporeans being ‘weak and lazy’ - Brian Tan Cheow Eng (Fairmont Hotel & Resorts)

And so...another one from the top with absolutely no PR skills.  Best is that he isn't even apologetic about calling Singapore 'weak and lazy'.  Like some politicians we have seen in this country, his excuse...sorry, I mean reason...is that his words are taken out of context (sounds familiar?  Think GE2011).  Maybe this chap isn't a Singaporean, that's why he felt that it's perfectly alright to label us weak and lazy.  If he is a Singaporean, well...congratulations, we have a new candidate for politics!!!

Fairmont Hotel and Resorts will investigate a complaint lodged by a netizen Mark Seah on its Facebook page about the derogatory comments made by its Director of Quality Brian Tan Cheow Eng on Singaporeans being ‘weak and lazy’.

In a discussion thread on Facebook about a Swiss lawyer’s comments on Singaporeans not being ‘entitled to jobs in their own country’, Mr Tan argued that it is not the job of the government to protect the jobs of Singaporeans and bemoaned the poor quality of Singapore workers:

“If you do that in the private sector, no company would want to move here just to hire WEAK and LAZY Singaporeans.”

Mr Tan added that foreigners do a lot of jobs that ‘Singaporeans don’t want to do’ and asked Singaporeans to stop behaving like ‘babies’:

“Foreigners do a lot of jobs that Singaporeans don’t want to do. What’s the harm in that? In fact, some industries will collapse without foreigners….If we Singaporeans think we are so good, then don’t be afraid to compete for jobs with the best talent in the world. Come on, stop behaving like babies waiting to be spoon fed all the time!”

In a reply posted on Facebook, Fairmont Hotel clarified that it does not support Mr Brian Tan’s position:

“Thank you for your concern and for bringing this to our attention. This is not a position that Fairmont Hotels & Resorts supports, and we have been looking into this issue.”

Mr Tan has since clarified that his comments were ‘taken out of context’, but stopped short of retracting them and issuing a public apology to Singaporeans.

Meanwhile, angry netizens continue to call for a boycott of Fairmont Hotel and Resorts till action is taken against Mr Brian Tan.

Vietnamese woman gets in argument, hits man on plane

Ok...for those I have suggested to take a Vietnamese wife, I take back my words.  Didn't know they are this violent and crazy!
A Vietnamese woman got into a heated argument with two Singaporean men on a flight to Singapore. The argument escalated into a fight just as the plane landed at the Budget Terminal, leaving one of the men with cuts on his arm and forehead.

According to a report in today's New Paper, Singaporean passengers Mr Yeo and Chua Teck Kwang were on the Tiger Airways flight back to Singapore from Ho Chi Minh City on Saturday (March 17) with their families. The Vietnamese woman was on the same flight with an older woman who appeared to be in her 50s.

Mr Yeo said his wife had attempted to remove a magazine attached to the pouch of the seat in front. Then, without turning around, the Vietnamese woman started shouting in English and Vietnamese and rocked her chair for several minutes.

When the plane landed at Changi's Budget Termnal, Mr Chua told the woman she could lodge a complaint with the police if she was unhappy. The woman flared up again and scolded him. A fight ensued and Mr Chua ended up with scratches on his forehead and right arm.

Mr Chua realized she had drawn blood only when others shouted, "It's bleeding!"

According to Mr Chua, Mr Yeo's son was crying throughout the fight, and he added that the cut on his arm was quite deep, and his arm was painful and swollen.

At the Budget Terminal, the group was met by security personnel who waited with them until the police arrived 15 to 20 minutes later. The police advised the parties involved on their legal recourse.

Mr Chua said he is hoping for more witnesses to come forward.

For goodness sake, if she doesn't want her seat to be "rocked", please take SQ first class because Tiger airlines is for normal people like us.
Please wear seatbelt!!

Loot from IT Show 2012

Went for the IT Show and got these.  Do note that I'm not a big fan of crowds and I really have no idea why I appeared there.  Nonetheless, after fighting through the crowd and pushing everyone who was in my way or have been pushing me around, these are what I harvested!
This mouse is really slim and pretty.  Best of all, there is no rollers in between your fingers.  You still can scroll, there's a sensor where the roller is suppose to be. It rides on bluetooth technology which mean, if you have a lappie with bluetooth, you don't need to sacrifice one usb port for the wireless adapter.  Really cool right?
See!!  So sleek and pretty!  A great companion for my 小白.
You get really really good price if you buy 2 and pay by Nets or cash.  Credit card payment does not enjoy the discount.  I just got to know that this is a very good brand for headsets.  But the name of the brand sounds so gibberish...hmmmm
I seriously have no idea why I got this.  I mean, I hardly even use half of my 350GB.  I probably got this coz it's cheap.  Only S$159 for 1TB.  Maybe I'll use this to backup my 350GB which is backing up my PC.  I've never felt so secured. lol.  Anyway, my 350GB is named Bunny.  Maybe I'll name my 1TB as hmmm....Tweety?  As for the USB3.0 technology...seriously, I have no idea what's the difference between usb 3.0 and 2.0.  Maybe some IT geek can enlighten stone age me.
This is dirt cheap.  Only S$10 per piece.
Ok, I didn't purchase this from the IT Show.  Infact, I purchase this shortly before the fair so I'll just dump it in this blog. For those who know me, you will know that I got this not because of functionality but because it's cute.  If you are still wondering what this is, it's actually an 8GB thumbdrive.  It's really cute and tiny...looks exactly like those wireless adapter you stuff into the usb port.  When I first started using this on my PC, I couldn't pull it out and had to use a pair of pliers to do that.  After that ordeal, I decided to add a handphone accessory and now, it's so easy to pull out.  Just pull the string!  Sometimes, you just gotta pull some strings to get things done.

Cadbury Mini Eggs

Finally found what I wanted and craving for. But not sure why they change the packaging.
