Conflicting emotions

A riot just broke out in Little India just a few hours ago. And it all started because a private bus knocked down an Indian national. As much as I'm still upset with my boy for something he didn't do, it still worries me a great deal if he really did turn up for work.

Luckily he is off today. If not, he will be at the scene coz Little India is under his division's jurisdiction. It didn't help that he is also part of the riot police -.-" I hope everything clears up soon coz he is on standby and might be called back any moment if it doesn't clears fast.

Yes, I'm still pissed with his inability to act fast on what I needed but I'm worried about his safety at the same time. So now I'm one self-conflicted, self-confused bugger. But hey, at least I admit that I'm dead worried. I even text him that I don't want him to go back to work. I know it's not possible coz when it comes to work, he is damn serious. Nonetheless, it's also good to know that I'm in safe hands ;p

The downside of dating a cop:
- Having to worry every single time he goes to work
- Burnt weekends and public holidays
- Cant have fixed date nights
- Off days are sometimes a figment of imagination coz they almost always gets called back for trainings on their off days

The positive:
- free bodyguard :)

Work visit

My happy valentine's came to visit me at work today before starting night shift (ok, it's not really work...I was helping my friend look after his retail shop while he travels).  We were suppose to have dinner together but he went to look at car sound system and lose track of time.  To be specific, he forgot about our appointment -.-"  But he still manage to rush down for a short 45 mins meet up before his work.  And then he did the most unbelievable thing.  He told my friend that I will scold him if he don't come.  Hmmm....am I that fierce???

I do understand his fetish for car gadgets and I've gone with him to workshops, showrooms, car accessories shop....etc.  So forgetting me is nothing new :)  Nonetheless, I appreciate him for coming down.  But while he bought dinner to come to the shop to eat with me...he didn't buy mine -.-"  I have to add that he is not always like that.  Could be the rush :p

Lovely concerned colleagues

I just realized I have lots of concerned colleagues from our overseas office. When news came that my direct boss' contract was not renewed, many have sent messages asking how I'm doing. They were concerned that I would be very affected by the news. I thank them for their concern but I wasn't really affected at all.

As the news came, I tried to weigh my positive and negative.

Negative:
- I lost a free ride to office and back home
- I lost a 'shelter' at work

Positive:
- I can focus better at work without someone coming to my work station once every 15 mins to tell me which supermarket is having promotion or which brand of milk is giving free mugs
- I don't have to buy breakfast for everyone. Well, he made it mandatory for us to take turns to buy breakfast. That's right, even if you don't feel like eating, you still need to buy for the rest.
- I don't need to force myself to eat snacks I don't feel like eating at that point of time
- I don't have to worry about someone sneaking up from behind me and watch what I'm doing
- I don't need to gulp down my hot tea just because he was standing next to me rushing me to finish my tea as he wants to wash my cup
- I can freely use the rubbish bin near to me without having someone nagged that we have to 'consolidate' rubbish bin so we can only throw our rubbish at one location (and it's not very near me)
- I can date the guy I love without having someone nagged that I should dump him and find someone else coz he has a kid
- I don't have to listen to gossips about other colleagues in the office
- I don't need to lie to the company owners and synchronize stories that I can never remember. I didn't have a choice because he was my direct boss -.-" It's a long story and I still feel unfairly treated. He is those type who will push his subordinates out to the war zone while he watch from afar.

Nonetheless, I guess the positive outweighs the negative.

What's more annoying is that he implemented the punch card system before leaving and kept insisting that it was the CEO who wants it when all of us knew it was him who initiated. He told us that he fought hard but the CEO still wants it. I find it hard to believe coz when I was quite new to the company, he suggested before but was turn down by my CEO as he felt that it wasn't really necessary to have one in place.

My colleagues are now asking me to take his place. No thanks....a management role is good enough for me. A director role would be too stressful. I don't have the capacity to sit in his room.

Video of woman slapping and scolding kneeling boyfriend in Hong Kong goes viral

Here's the video of a gutless guy being slapped and shouted at by a bitch.  I'd say...be a man, have some self-respect and walk off!  She's ain't pretty anyway!!! If she don't know how to respect you as a man now, she will never respect you in future.

From Yahoo news!

Guys, how far would you go for the woman you love?

Most of you probably wouldn’t go as far as this Hong Kong man, who knelt on a street in Hong Kong and allowed himself to be slapped and berated by his girlfriend, who alleged that he had cheated on her.
In a five-and-a-half-minute-long YouTube video of the shocking incident, the girlfriend (wearing a pink shirt), whom Hong Kong media reported as a 20-year-old woman called Cheng, can be seen slapping her boyfriend, 23, repeatedly (about a dozen times) and pulling his hair. She accused him of bringing a woman home.

The boyfriend cried and appeared emotional as he denied his girlfriend’s allegations.
However, his girlfriend did not stop the abuse.

He then yelled at another woman (wearing a black shirt) in the video, who appeared to be the woman he brought home as well as a good friend of Cheng, telling her to speak up for him.

However, the other woman ignored his request and just made half-hearted attempts at calming Cheng down.
Cheng’s violent acts even drew criticism from bystanders, with many scolding her for her bad behaviour and calling her “ugly”.

Many also urged the boyfriend to break up with her.

According to Hong Kong newspaper Oriental Daily, the incident happened at around 5pm last Friday.
Oriental Daily also reported that the police had arrested Cheng for assault and investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the victim had been conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The video of the incident has received over 400,000 views since it was uploaded to YouTube last Friday.
Here it is below. Be warned, it contains violence and coarse language.

PaySpree: An Affiliate Network That Pays Instant Commission On Every Product

If you sell digital products online you are no doubt aware of the two most popular affiliate networks, ClickBank and PayDotCom.

While both of these are great and I highly recommend each of them, today I came across a brand new service that really caught my attention. It's called PaySpree and the reason it caught my attention is that ALL its members get paid for their sales instantly. And they can choose whether to be paid by PayPal, AlertPay or Credit Card.

Even affiliates get paid for their referred sales instantly.

I expect it to become quite a hit as the lure of 'instant commissions'  played a big part in the massive success of products such as 7DollarSecrets and the RapidActionProfits scripts. And PaySpree offers even more than what you get with those.

I've actually come across products for sale that are just lists of affiliate programs that pay instant paypal commission. And I've seen many threads in the various internet marketing forums asking about where to find instant commission affiliate programs. Now there is an entire site and marketplace dedicated to them.

As soon as you become a member you can start promoting any product in the marketplace, and you can add your own products so affiliates can promote them for you. All commission payments are handled automatically by PaySpree, it sounds like a winner to me.

I've just signed up and had a look around the site and it seems pretty simple and non cluttered, check it out at the link below and let me know what you think:

Recent Paypal - Ebay rule

I don't quite like the recent paypal / Ebay rule where I need to establish a successful sales history on eBay before I can have access to the funds I've received (will be held for 21 days). This is so annoying.  Can see, cannot touch.  I understand they need to protect the buyers but don't they need to protect the sellers as well?  I started selling on Sunday (15th Sep) and got stuck with this! :(

Finally a weekend together

Spent our Saturday in Universal Studio.  Photos will be up on my travel blog soon...once I get them sorted out.  Didn't last till the fireworks coz there's operations in the night and he is incharge.  So we got to cut short our outing and head off.  Work comes first, fun can wait.  After a quick rest and shower, he changed into his uniform and dropped me at Outram station while he drives into his office carpark (not open to public thats why I can't go in).  I wouldn't bother to describe which branch he belongs too...it's rather obvious.  Outram station...get it? *grin*

I'm still trying my best to get used to his non-weekends off days and burnt public holidays.  It's hard when everyone is enjoying their weekends dating while I stay at home coz my beau is working -.-" But hey, he is protecting the nation, I should feel proud!  I have calculated...he didn't enjoy any off days this week.  His off days are burnt with operations and trainings :(  They have alot of riots trainings recently.

He wanted to book a chalet and invite my friends and his friends over for my birthday -.-"  So it's going to be a match making session eh?  I prefer to spend it alone with him.  I don't need a big party...I just want 24 hours undivided attention from him, that's enough for me.

Tulips!!

Pretty flowers. He's got the right flowers this time (though not the right color). Well done!!! I appreciate he took the effort to order it coz tulips normally requires pre-order. But they are lovely.

Went with him to pay respect to his mummy. I think the flowers is an encouragement to me for agreeing to go for his family gathering. Actually, I'm not quite ready to meet his family and friends but well...I guess I should appreciate the recognition that he is giving me. I would prefer to meet his daughter first because I need to know if she is able to accept me. Adults would be easy to handle but a child so tender and young (she's only in pri 4) would require more work. I know the journey isn't going to be easy for me but if I love him, I would need to love his daughter as well. So I'm going to work real hard to gain his daughter's approval. She didn't have his mixed up looks but from the pic, she look quite adorable too.

Gotta sleep...

Change number AGAIN

I have been advised to change number.  I hate changing numbers coz I have to inform the whole world.  That's why I'm so reluctant to change.  But with so many nuisance calls (blocked numbers) and irritating smses (I believe mine is a recycled number), I just have to change it.  I am tentatively using my second number on my iphone (whatsapp still remains as old number) and inserted the new number into my Tab2.  I'm giving myself one week to transfer all my friends to my second number.  (So friends, if you get a call or text message ending with 008, that's me heeee). As for the new number (the one that's not 008 lah), only my family, colleagues and my handsome hunk has it.  Don't think I will give it to anyone yet until my second number starts to give me problems again.

Now that I'm no longer a recruiter and hardly give out my business cards, I don't think I'll be having the same problem but one can never be too sure.  I have also unlinked my phone number from facebook....linking it could be the most stupid thing I have ever done..lol.

Been busy with loads of stuff these few weeks especially with work.  It's tough to work in a company that wants to grow its headcount so aggressively!  Just when I thought I had enough on my plate for the Singapore and Manila office, I was told that I need to hire for Taiwan office as well -.-"  No idea why they don't get the Manila resourcing team to do it.  I was also told to go to Malaysia but thanks to my boss who is forever covering for me (:p), he will go on his own while I stay in Singapore.  I told him that someone need to stay back and hold the fort and I'll sacrifice...he will go out into the wilderness while I stay and protect the fort...muahahahaha...he bought the idea :)

Nonetheless, not sure when I'll write again but I'll try to write soon.  Will have to feed my travel blog with all those pass trips that I didn't have time to write.  So many things to do, so little time -.-"  Oh and not forgetting that when my precious dates me, I drop everything I have on hand and cancel appointments to go out with him.  Yah, I'm his number one fan.  And I hate it when he tests my jealousy rating!  Coz it can get real high...very very high.

Making police report after so many years

It's been a long while since I lodge a police report.  The last one was when I lost my IC.  But that was many years ago and it was the written type.  After receiving a scam sms yesterday (alright, my brain might have been stuffed with straws coz I actually replied to the sms with "Who are you?") telling me that if I don't pay up, he will harm my family and come at night to disturb, I panicked.  When I told my brother and boyfriend....both of them said that I should have consulted them first and should not have responded.  I'm too friendly not to reply.

Wanted to make a police report yesterday but brother said that I should wait for my boyfriend to accompany me to make the report coz he knows what to write.  So that lovely chap came early this morning to pick me up from my home....drives me all the way to his office at Cantonment and personally recorded the statement for me (-.-").  I do appreciate all these because it has been such a long time since he last did a police report but he did it for me.  Can see him struggle abit as he ask his junior how to do certain things.  After the police report, he sent me to office and then he went home.  It's his off day today :)  Felt so safe dating a bodyguard.  From now on, I purpose to consult him in everything I do....

D'Nest viewing

Went for show flat viewing with my boy just because he said 'Let's get a condo'.  The showflats were brilliantly done up.  I liked the 4 br apartment while he liked the 3 br ones.  I just thought that 3 br might not be enough.  1 master br, 1 study, 1 br for his gym stuff and 1 for his daughter - there, all 4 rooms taken up.  3 br will be too small.  But of course, I don't mind a smaller unit...lesser surface area to clean.  And the agent from Huttons was also very helpful entertaining all the questions that my boy has.  The only issue will be the price...too expensive.  Another minor consideration is that the available block is too far from the main entrance.  I can't expect my hubby to drive me to the entrance everyday.  Sometimes, he got to work night shift and wont be home in time

When I posted my check in on FB, many concerned friends started to give advice and some even suggested that I speak to them.  Well, knowing that I don't have much input most of the times (I leave the final decision to my boy)...I gladly referred them to personal agent.  If they need to give any advice, can speak to my agent or his assistant...they will liaise on my behalf.  Wanted to refer them to my boy but I don't want him to get harrassed by the many agents who are trying to sell us a piece the development they are incharge of.  So just speak to my agent will do.  He knows my requirements inside out.

Wonder where we are viewing next....

How men think in relationships

Saw this posted in Facebook and I think it's really really true!  It's kind of hilarious too....From the heart of a man!

MAN RULES

At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down.  Finally, the guy's side of the story.  (I must admit it's pretty good).

... We always hear 'The Rules' from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side.

These are our rules!

Please note.  These are all numbered #1 on purpose!

1.  Men are not mind readers
(Yuko: Yes, I learn my lesson)

1.  Learn to work the toilet seat.  You're a big girl.  If it's up, put it down.  We need it up, you need it down.  You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
(Yuko: Luckily, I don't have the problem with toilet seats being up or down...I do have a problem with how toothpaste is being squeezed)

1.  Crying is blackmail
(Yuko: kekekekeke.....Well, I can't control)

1.  Ask for what you want.  Let us be clear on this one:

Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!
(Yuko:  ok ok ok, noted!)

 1.  Yes and no are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.
(Yuko:  Really no need to explain?)

1.  Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.  That's what we do.  Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.
(Yuko: Luckily the bear is open to listen to sob sob and angry stories too!)

 1.  Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.  In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.
(Yuko: hahahahahaha......the bear don't remember grudges, his heart is too big for that.  But he does, however, remembers it when I tell him what I like...yes, even when I briefly mention it!)

 1.  If you think you're fat, you probably are.  Don't ask us.
(Yuko:  I won't ask, I'll just tell him I'm fat and he will agree -.-")

1.  If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.
(Yuko: Men and their excuses!)

 1.  You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done.  Not both.  If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.
(Yuko: I'm too independent to ask bear to do things for me...I'd rather do it myself...saves the trouble of explaining)

1.  Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.
(Yuko: We are too busy to talk)

1.  Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we...
(Yuko:  There's a reason why GPS was invented)

1.  All men see is only 16 colors, like windows default settings.  Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color.  Pumpkin is also a fruit.  We have no idea what mauve is.
(Yuko: Hahahahahaha.......this is funny but very true!)

1.  If we ask what is wrong and you say 'Nothing', we will act like nothing's wrong.  We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.
(Yuko: Arrrggghhhhh.....)

1.  If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear.
(Yuko: I don't have any history of heart attacks so I can any answers....I'll still ask)

1.  When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine...really.
(Yuko: Orhhhhh.....)

1.  Don't ask us what we're thinking about uless you are prepared to discuss such topics as football or motor sports.
(Yuko: I was told that there will be 4 car shows per year and as part of my training, I will be taken to one of the shows to learn more about cars in order for me to get into his world.  errrr....okiez)

1.  you have enough clothes.
(Yuko: Then how come I got nothing to wear?)

1.  You have too many shoes
(Yuko: I have no shoes to wear...thank god he is perfectly patience when shopping with me)

1.  I am in shape, round is a shape!
(Yuko: The bear is not that round....he has muscles.  I forbid him to work on his tummy coz if the tummy is replaced with 6 packs, then my pillow will be gone!)

1.  Thank you for reading this.  Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight...But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping....
(Yuko: Yah, bear likes camping.  We even have a tent, tent fan, camping lights, table (for me to watch movies on his ipad), ground sheets, in his car so that we can camp anytime we want!  The both of us together can fix up a tent in 5 mins or less....we are good!)

Cosmopolitan April edition

Pooh bear was pumping petrol at a petrol kiosk and saw this....so he got it for me.  I wonder why......

Read through and saw this really interesting article on page 72.

Say this, boost his mood.
1) Damn, you've got a hot ass - Men crave reassurance about their appearance just like we do, so he'll definitely appreciate a positive comment on his looks.  Bonus: Its the perfect opportunity to initiate some playful butt-grabbing.
(Yuko: Ok, I have never said that he has hot ass...BUT I always tell him that he is cute looking - he is a mixture of peranakan, indonesian, chinese and dutch - and I LOVE his arm muscle - alright, he should know this part coz I would grab every opportunity to touch his muscle especially when he is driving ;p)

2) Wow! How did you manage to move that huge thing? - The underlying message here is that he's strong, and that taps in to his inner caveman.  Men instinctively need to feel like they can provide protection, so letting him know you admire how physically powerful he is gives him an instant shot of power.
(Yuko: I have yet to try this coz he hasn't really move any huge objects yet.  But with his weight lifting, martial arts, unarmed combat, gas chamber thingie...etc, I already feel very safe standing next to him.  And he always carries my shopping stuffs...yes, without being asked....such a darling right?  So I guess, he should be strong!)

3) Oh, cool, I didn't know that. - Drop this line the next time he mentions some totally random yet fascinating piece of info.  Then ask him more baout the topic. It's a way of showing him that no matter how long you've been together, you still find him just as interesting as ever.
(Yuko: Alrighty, I normally say that when he talks to me about criminal law and cars!  To me, cars are things with 4 wheels that moves.  To him, it's a whole lot of stuffs....but the way he explains stuffs makes it so interesting, I just want to hear more....love it most when he talk about his work.)

Beliefs vs Behavior

Yes, some people can tell you all about their gods....but when you look at the way they act and what comes out of their mouth, it makes you wonder if their religion is actually a cult.

Pressie from the bear again :)

He rushed back from JB after fixing his car lights to have dinner with me. He ditched his friend in JB but I kept telling him its ok, I can wait. Or we can meet other times...but he commented that between me and his friend, he would rather choose me (score points liao).

After dinner, he suggested we go and have ice cream. I agreed. When we reach the mall, he asked me to go shop around abit while he goes to the ATM. Being someone who doesn't read too much into his intention, I agreed. It took him a long time to come and look for me. When we met, he said that he has a surprise for me (actually a week ago, I have already heard him mentioning about searching for my surprise). The condition of the surprise pressie is that I hve to buy him a Mac Donald's ice cream -.-" I saw the Watsons plastic bag and guessed that he probably got me more vitamins -_-

We sat down in Mac and got the ice cream. He made me close my eyes and passed me the surprise. It really blew me off...I didn't know how to react because I seriously didn't see that coming. He was so afraid I wouldn't like the design that he passed me the receipt in case I want to go to the shop and change. I assured him that I won't change because it's the heart that counts.  Actually, he got quite good taste....ahem! When I saw the amount, I almost flipped too! That's the amount he had been saving for his bicycle. Instead of splurging on himself, he splurge it on me

This is probably an assurance for me to wait for him to settle his personal problems. Oh he said that the pressie is to reward me for the birthday surprise I gave him. I will write about it some other times if I remember.

Whatever it is, I thank him very much. This gift and everything else he has given me is precious. I kept them inside a big box (gift box he used to give me my first pressie) and named it Txxx box :)

About respect

Saw this posted on Facebook and I thought it to be so true. For those who are always demanding that others respect you, you gotta repent!

Pressies!!!

Pressies from my body guard.  Thank you!

Yah, he is really a body guard!  I'm not kidding!  I salute him for protecting the nation :)  It's an altruistic profession that demands long hours, quick thinking, lots of potential dangers, burnt weekends as well as holidays and not much compensation -.-"
He got me this miniature shelf in support of my hobby :)  Yup, he went back to the same shop he brought me before in KSL.  I didn't even notice the existence of this shelf.  His eyes are too sharp to hide anything.
And this is for my body guard.  Quite a cute poster actually.  Happy catching crocodiles~

Chingay 2013

I got free tickets again lol....this time, it's for Chingay 2013, 22 Feb 13 show. To be frank, this is my first Chingay and I didn't regret it though abit noisy. Thanks to a dear friend who came along upon really really short notice.  She also came along for the movie gala with me upon short notice too.  Pooh bear was also there but on duty.  Managed to come over and say hi.  I love those colorful displays. This year, it was even snowing foam!  Think I took about 100+ pics, here's some of them.  The rest of the pics are in my Facebook.  Do remember to check it out.

Cai Ai Jia was there!!  She was the one who helped me get the tickets for the Red Numbers movie gala.  Very sweet and nice girl.  Haven't really thank her yet :)

It was snowing foam....but we were not bothered by it.  Had much fun with the atmosphere.

Going home was tough.  We had to queue to get out even though we waited awhile for the crowd to dissipate before making our way out.

Red Number 红字 Gala Premiere

Went for a movie gala yesterday.  Thankful that my friends are able to come along with me.  I got 4 tickets but definitely won't want to go alone.  Red carpet started at 8pm at the star studded event.  Had lots of fun just standing around chating with friends and star gazing as well as trying identity who's who.  Movie was suppose to start at 9.30pm straight after red carpet.  But of course, being a Premiere, there will be a short interview sessions with the stars.  So we ended up really able to watch the movie at 10pm after some advertisements.

Finally able to meet up with 辉哥 in person and like in TV shows, he is really funny, down to earth and friendly.  陈天文 is another really friendly person.  Those who are on my Facebook can check out the pictures I took during last night's gala.

The movie revolves around a bunch of people trying to figure out 4 digits given by a ghost through a young chap's dream.  There was a quick twist in the end but I'm not going to tell you what it is...you guys go watch.  As with any Singapore movies, expect mandarin and dialects to be spoken extensively.  English subtitles provided though.

Familiar household names like Henry Thia (辉哥),Edmund Chen, Hong Hui Fang, 一大粒,Chen Shucheng, He Jie..etc acted in the show.  Oh and the Thai maid is acted by Da Niu and he is really funny! Red Numbers opens on 22 Feb (2202), be sure to catch it in Cathay cinemas.

Holiday Mood

Woke up late today and then went out to donate some of my old usable things to Simei Care Centre and then to NTUC and then home.  That's how I spent my work-from-home day :)  Our office closed early on Thursday and then today, the bosses thought it would be appropriate for us to work at home.  It doesn't matter what we do as long as we keep our Skype on.  Didn't really have much to do except to assist my HR colleague from Philippines office for some hiring matters.

We are starting work on Wednesday but only for half a day coz our movie outing is at 3pm.  Since I'm responsible for buying tickets, guess what we are going to watch?  Lol....We will be watching Ah Boys to Men 2.  For one of my colleague and I, this would be the 2nd time.  For my boss and the China lady, it's their first.  We decided to call it team building and claim the movie tickets from company.  Not sure what team we are building coz our eyes would be stuck to the screen and we probably won't be communicating much throughout the 1.5hrs in the movie theatre -.-"  Nonetheless, what matters most is that we get to go home early ;p

Anyway, I won't be resting much during the holidays coz I am under tremendous pressure to fill a certain role for Philippines office.  As my dear boss has said "If you still can't find someone suitable by 28 Feb, I want you to pack your bags and fly right here (Philippines) on 1 Mar".  Great!!  Friends....you will soon have free accommodation when you go to Manila -.-"

Population White Paper 2013

In an effort to decrease their number of votes further, the ruling party came up with a brilliant idea of going against Singaporean (ie. Citizens feel that we are saturated with too many foreign talents and the ruling party decided to bring in more to piss us further).  Don't get me wrong, I have no objection of real foreign talents coming in to help build our nation.  Infact, I believe that without them, we wouldn't be where we are today.  But too many of them is a little threatening and we are welcoming talents (those who are ready to contribute), not those who are here to learn things.  On top of that, 6.9million is heck of a lot of people for a tiny island to hold.  Maybe one day, we will be known as the little red dot under the sea....

White paper calls for up to 80% increase in foreign population in SG

Oh but someone suggested we pack up and leave.....

Demise of a friend's brother

When I first saw the news on my friend's facebook, I couldn't believe that his brother has passed on....somemore at such a young age of 41.  Was telling my colleague that Steve was doing so well on earth that God decided to bring him home early and keep him by His side.  And to think that I was the one who match make my friend with him :(  Even though their marriage life was shortlived, he had been an excellent husband and a wonderful father to his little girl.  I pray that the family is keeping well.

Ah Boys to Men 2

Watched Ah Boys to Men 2 on 1 Feb with my volunteer group.  I must say that part 2 is much better than part 1.  There were some tear jerking moments in between the laughter.  The nicknames they gave the boys were also quite interesting!  The entire series makes me appreciate our soldiers more.  Thank you guys for protecting this nation which many had said...no longer belongs to Singaporean.
I don't mind watching it a few more times.  Oh by the way, I bought the Ah Boys to Men DVD ^.^

Toshrock (Sergeant Ong) rocks!!!! :)

History repeats

Just finish a Skype chat with my CEO.  He was asking about the responses of the increment (I just completed the increment exercise and also decided that their titles be changed to reflect their responsibilities).  It is our company policy that all increment to be set at 10%.  For exceptional performance, increment can go up to 15%.  My boss did suggest for a fixed percentage to be stated in the employment letter which I rejected because by stating the amount, it leaves little allowance for the company to make changes should the employee under perform.

Anyway, told him that the girls are not happy with their 10% increment, they felt they deserve more.  Frankly, I think 10% is a good amount. And guess what boss told me....he said that if they are not happy with their increment, they can leave, we won't stop them....and then he said that as the HR Manager, I should always be look out for good people ready to replace the girls.  -.-"  Not again....I don't wish to have to do the termination thing again. But seriously, we have the easiest environment to work in...as in, the bosses are never in.  Plus min 10% increment, AWS and variable bonus....why are people still complaining???

Settled

Alright, everything's settled with him and the chapter is officially close. As in, really really close! I'm happy for him that he is relieved. It's not easy keeping a secret for so long and not having the guts to spill it out. Glad we've come to an amicable decision to move on.

I have to admit that I conducted a final weee little small test on him before we close the chapter. A test on how much he knows about my character :) Needless to say, he didn't know alot about me. Come on lor, I love kids...why would I stop him from meeting his little girl right? Infact, I have a feeling that I might even make him fight for the custody or even spoil the kid -.-"

I told him that I will meet other friends and choose the best *wink*. The model answer I want to hear is 'I will fight for you' not 'I don't like competition'. So there you go....after he chose to give up, I agreed to go with his choice. Nevermind that he said I rejected him and it doesn't really matter who rejected who. The only important thing is chapter closed for good.

I wish him all the best and peoples, don't need to dig anymore. Whatever I need to let you know, I'll let you know here. If its not mention here, that means you don't need to know lor. So stop asking who this person is...doesn't really concern you.

Pulau Ubin Camping Trip

This is my first camping trip after so many years.  The last time I had a camp was in Secondary school.  And guess what?  This is the first time I lived in a tent!  I had wanted to get a 4 men tent to stay with my roomie but in my haste, I grabbed a 6 men tent instead.  So all 8 people were in my tent playing games on the second night.  And instead of just the two of us sleeping in the tent, we had all the ladies in it (all 4 ladies).  Not that crampy but alittle stuffy.  Something creepy happened on the first night so the 2 girls didn't dare to sleep inside their own tents.  I joined them only on the second day coz my roomie had to work that day.

Anyway, the next thing I'm going to get for my tent would be a battery operated tent fan.  So looking forward to the next trip!  And thanks to the 3 guys who help us set up and keep our tents without even being asked and I also believe they didn't sleep on the second night to watch over our the sisters tent.  Appreciate them lots!  I can't think of anything to thank the one guy who stood there with folded arm watching the 3 guys set up and keep our tents as well as cook for the ladies. But this camping trip shows the teamwork we had.  Like when my bike's chain came loose, the entire team stop to help.

The best wedding speech

Wah...if my groom's wedding speech is something like this, I wouldn't mind marrying him over and over and over again!  Can see the efforts he went through for her....So lovely!

Pride is the biggest problem

Sometimes I just wish pride has never existed. I mean, why keep telling me that you don't need this, don't need that when I asked if you need them and then let the whole world know its my fault -.-" A friend told me not to blame him coz he must be feeling down. I totally understand. Well, truth is. The blaming game is never my forte, but I do hope he can be a little more truthful to me. A good start would be to remove that pride. I guess that is also one reason why I'm more selective of friends now. I'm still friendly but I choose who I trust now. I'm glad there are still people on my side. And some mature enough not to jump into things.

Nevermind, new year new start! The old is gone and the best is yet to come. So to all friends and foes, whatever you have wished me, I wished a 100 folds back to you :) If you have wished me well, 100 fold blessings to you. If you have cursed me in one way or another, 100 folds curses back to you too (I hope no one cursed me lol coz 100 fold is hell of a lot).

In the year 2013, I hope to be stronger and not so mild and easily pushed around. I think I gave in too much to the extend that everyone is taking me for granted. Time I take back what is mine :)

Ok, time to prepare for my weekend camping trip cum BBQ! Tent and sleeping bag not purchased yet. 200-800 lumens diving torch checked, foldable tool checked, mozzy repellent checked, portable chargers checked, .....etc. Ubin, here I come!!!

Rabbits in 2013

The rabbit has represented hope for a long time, by Chinese people. It is tender and lovely. The moon goddess Chang'e in Chinese legend had a rabbit as her pet, which stimulated the thought that only this creature was amiable enough to match her noble beauty. The Chinese character 'Tu' (rabbit) is part of 'Yi' (escape or leisure) indicating speed and distance. The Han people have a custom that a pregnant woman is not allowed to eat bunny for fear that the child will be born with a harelip. The newborn is given paintings of children and rabbits representing that the child will have a peaceful and happy life.

Strengths
People born under the sign of the rabbit are gentle, sensitive, compassionate, amiable, modest and merciful, and have strong memory. They like to communicate with others in a humorous manner. They cannot bear dull life, so they are good at creating romantic or interesting spice. They are soft-spoken and welcoming, being fond of peaceful love life. They hate arguing with capacity of converting an enemy into a friend. They are homebody and hospitable, and like house fitting-up. They can work with speed and efficiency, do not insist and get angry easily.

Weaknesses
They lack meditative abilities and often sink money into ideas that may cause failures in their career. They are amorous and not determined, soft in appearance and stubborn inside. They usually do not submit to dreary life, but create romance. They are not good at delving deeply and likely to escape the reality. They may lose good chances because of reserved personality.
