Masks-querade

These few days, when I look outside my window, I would wonder if I'm part of the cast of Silent Hill or I'm holidaying in a not too cold Genting Highland. Thanks to our lovely neighbour who said that we should thank them for the 11 months of fresh air (hmm....I didn't know Indonesia produces fresh air....I thought it was mother nature...oh well!), we've got this fuzzy wuzzy  feeling.

Found some masks online that could make this fuzzy season funny!

And here's Mr Brown's choices of masks.

GE2015: Polling Day

Happy Polling Day to all my Singaporean folks. This is the day you let your voice be heard.  I always tell my friends. If you don't like a certain party, please do not draw funny pictures or write anything in their box because it will be counted as theirs.  How I know?  Well, I was a counting agent during GE2011 and again during PE2011. Even if you write the word "FU" in a certain party's box, it will be considered as you voting for that party. So vote with your heart open!

Mr Brown has told us not to vote wisely but suka suka vote.  You suka who, you choose who. I have done my part!  Have you?

GE2015: Interesting rally speech - Sim Ann

Sim Ann's "chut pattern" speech has been made famous by netizens.  I read from Wikipedia that prior to being elected to Parliament (under the GRC umbrella), she was the Assistant Director for Finance Policy and Planning at the Ministry of Health (1998 - 2000). In 2000, she was made an Assistant Director for Implementation Planning at the Ministry of Home Affairs. In 2003, she became a Deputy Director for Trade at Ministry of Trade and Industry. From 2007 to 2009, she as the Regional Director (East China) at International Enterprise Singapore. In 2009, she became the Director of National Population Secretariat. Sad to say, her speech doesn't show the character or attitude a Director should carry.

She said in the video that Dr Chee likes to set rules for others. She added that Dr Chee ignores the rules set by others but is "ok" with the rules he set.  So what are the rules?

1) Dr Chee doesn't allow anyone to reminisce his past. She continue to say that Dr Chee can reminisce the past of others but doesn't allow anyone to reminisce his past.  Even if it's the truth, Dr Chee would say that they are attacking his personality.

2) Dr Chee will criticise himself and said that it's other who criticise him.  Eg. Dr Chee felt that Mr Lawrence Wong and herself shouldn't talk about his past. She further added that according to Dr Chee, he felt that if PAP is unable to convince the voters, then they will say that he is a liar, a gangster, a psychopath. Sim Ann said that she felt weird hearing this because she wanted to tell Dr Chee that she didn't say all these so he shouldn't call himself names first.

My views on this is simple. If you know Dr Chee doesn't allow anyone to reminisce his past...why do you all keep harping on it. And it's not true that he bring out the past of others, he don't do personal attacks as such...infact, he has stopped low acts like these.

As for point 2, incase Ms Sim have forgotten her history, it was PM Lee Hsien Loong and the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew who calls him a liar, a gangster, a psychopath....he didn't call himself names.

I find it really weird that Ms Sim chose to attack opposition candidate's character.  Wouldn't it be better if she has use the time for more constructive rally speech?

GE2015: Dr Chee Soon Juan

Special thanks for Mr Tay Bee Pin for portraying this great man in the greatest possible way.  This video gives you a little sneak peek of what life is like behind the man of steel.  I liken Dr Chee as a bop bag (those inflatable toy with weighted base).  He is one who bounce back immediately at people's punches. Over the years, one can see how he will always fight for what he believes in.  With a PhD, I do not believe he cannot find a job anywhere in the corporate world but he chose to stay and fight. I can almost see him stand on the hill and cry out "Let my people go!!!" (think Prince of Egypt).

So much has been said about Dr Chee but I would like to draw your attention to Mdm Huang Chih Mei. She has taken the entire marriage vow to a whole new level.  She could have pack her bags and leave when her husband got in and out of prison but she chose to stay by her man. She could have ask for a divorce when many started to label Dr Chee as a lunatic but she chose to stay. A PhD holder herself, she could have been top of the corporate ladder should she choose to venture out, but she chose to stay.

I had the opportunity of meeting Dr Chee and Mdm Huang a few years back. Well, Dr Chee almost always bring his whole family along whenever he has party meeting so it's not uncommon to see his family. I notice the kids were sitting quietly in a corner with their mum while Dr Chee would discuss issues. I heard some elderly say, to know how the father is....take a look at his children.  In that very short meeting, I saw so much in the man.

This election, I am hoping that the heavens be kind to Dr Chee and give him what he has so long been fighting for.

Check out Mdm Huang Chih Mei's blog here.

GE2015: Dr Chee Soon Juan's Best Speech

This is perhaps the best speech that Dr Chee Soon Juan has delivered.  Infact, it's the best speech (in my own opinion) of the entire rally across all other parties.

GE2015: Who's contesting where

Sep 11 is a day where Americans remember how much harm terrorism can do to a country. A day where the world wakes up to the reality that terrorism is real. Will Sep 11 also be a day carved out in the history of Singapore's political arena?  With the awakening in the 2011 General Election, will this year bring another great awakening?  Let's see who the contenders are:
